So I'm rewatching the Pegasus arc, and oh my gods -- it's so good. Cain, you crazy, sociopathic bitch!!! But I kind of love you! Oh my gods, Kara. Please keep making all of your adorable faces! And rock that short ponytail til you die, boo!!!! 

ETA: OH MY GODS. Cain, you totally want to frak Kara Thrace. Yes, yes you do. 

ETA: Laura!!! You are such a bad bitch sometimes! I can't even stand how badass you are. You're all like, "Bill, mofo, you need to kill Cain. RFN. Why are you still here with me flirting when you should be on Pegasus fucking Cain up?"

It's totally my head!canon that Cain would've frakked Kara had she not been killed. IM STICKING WITH IT.

I mean -- the scenes when it's just the two of them. THE TENSION. It's so hot and beautiful and really, Cain's treatment of Kara is what saves her character for me. I'm like, she's clearly got a sadistic streak, but she's also capable of warmth and compassion. It's hard out there for a woman in the BSG verse!

Laura is badass and Cain is sexy. Kara/Kendra/Cain sexier. I disliked how Cain was made to be of the bad ship, when yes, she made some horrible decisions but I don't think she made any that weren't without consequences to herself or her inner self. And Gina, oh Gina. Razor isn't given enough credit IMO. It's a very complex episode(s) but one that explored things more than some others, if not with an entirely great result. (Korenap's fic for Gina, pairing her with Matthius post this arc in an AU is very interesting.)

Gina -- gods. Part of me thinks of Pegasus as the torture arc. Gina. Athena!Sharon. Chief and Helo with the fucking soap. There was a lot of pain there -- a lot of pain that went largely unresolved. I think the arc shows most clearly how desperate life has become since the end of the worlds.

Cain is obviously sadistic and emotionally cold, and that obviously affects the personality of the Pegasus. But yes, a lot of the exploration of Galactica v Pegasus was very simple.

Yay! That's one of my favorite arcs ever. Though I don't go to the Cain/Kara place - I tend to see Cain as a stand-in for Kara's mother, finally giving her approval. Who of course she then gets ordered to kill.

What a fantastic thought! I didn't see them as mother/daughter, but it totally works -- especially if you see Bill as Kara's father. Part of me wishes that Cain didn't die when she did.
