Re: the AU-y elements. I really struggled with this. I didn't want to over explain things, especially since I was so closely following Lee's POV. My hope was that readers would just assume what I wanted them to, but I don't think it quite worked out. Alas! Something to work on in future stories. A sequel isn't out of the question but probably unlikely. In my world, Boomer doesn't shoot Adama, and Helo/Athena/Sam/Resistance just doesn't happen.
