Re: canon. Sigh. I basically ended up writing out everything that I didn't want to deal with: Sam/the Resistance, assassin!Boomer, etc. So it was fun to offer up a slightly account of events. I especially love the Lassie-like raider.

And thank you for such a lovely compliment. I literally jumped up and ran through my apartment when I read it. You're a brilliant writer, my love, but trust me -- I know what it is to get frustrated when every single combination of words feels wrong or clunky somehow. Writing good prose = so, so difficult. wicked_sassy was an excellent beta, and I don't know if you have one or not, but sometimes it's just nice to get other eyes on things to help point out weird constructions and whatnot.
